The answers to the most frequently asked questions can help you better understand and recognize the products most suitable for your needs.

WHICH ROOF BARS ARE COMPATIBLE WITH MY CAR?

To identify compatible roof bars for your car, it is important to know the specific model, year of manufacture, type of anchorage and whether the roof is made of glass or sheet metal. You can find this information in the vehicle registration book.

You can search for your car model in the Search here section of our website and find compatible roof bars.

You can also visit one of our dealers in the dealer area for personal assistance.

WHAT IS THE LOAD CAPACITY OF ROOF BARS?
The load capacity of roof bars varies depending on the model. Generally, roof bars can support loads ranging from 75kg up to 100kg, depending on the type of bar, the material of construction and the fastening system.

It is essential not to exceed the maximum load of the bars, but this limit is subject to what is written in the vehicle's owner's manual. You should always follow the lower maximum load indications. Maximum load means: weight of the bars + weight of any accessories attached + weight of the intended load.

In particular, if you are considering using accessories such as roof boxes, bike racks, or ski racks, be sure to check the load specifications for each item. These items, when attached to roof racks, contribute to the total weight and must be included in the overall calculation.

Exceeding the recommended load capacity may result in safety risks and damage to the vehicle. Load capacity information can be found in the product details on our website.
WHAT KIND OF ROOF DOES MY CAR HAVE?
If you have to buy roof bars for your car, it is essential to identify the roof of your car:
  • Normal roof: 'Naked' roof with no specific provisions.
  • Railing: Longitudinal bars (also known as "American bars") that leave a gap between the roof and the bar.
  • Rails int. : Integrated profiles (also known as "low rails"), similar to Railing but without a gap between roof and bar.
  • T-profile: Internal groove in the shape of an inverted T.
  • Fix point : These are generally small opening hatches into which feet can be screwed.
WHAT IS THE SPEED LIMIT WITH ROOF BARS?
The speed limit with roof bars depends on the type of load.

For very bulky loads with high aerodynamic impact, such as kayaks, roof tents, bulkier roof boxes, etc., the speed limit is indicated at 80 km/h.

For normal loads, such as, ski racks, bike racks, etc., the speed limit is indicated at 130 km/h.

CAN I MOUNT THE ROOF AWNING ON THE GREEN VALLEY BARS?
Our roof bars can transport a roof tent from point A to point B, but cannot be used on top of the roof. Calculating the average weight of a person plus the weight of the roof tent, the maximum load capacity easily exceeds 100 kg.
MY CAR HAS A SUNROOF (PORTHOLE), CAN I INSTALL GREEN VALLEY BARS?
Of course, if we have the application on your car, it does not matter whether the roof has a porthole or not, the important thing is that it is always closed when the bars are mounted on the car.
MY GREEN VALLEY BARS MAKE NOISE HOW CAN I SOLVE IT?
It is good to distinguish between a noise caused by turbulence or by the anti-sibilance failure.

Green Valley bars are anchored to the roof following the points set by the car manufacturers, so depending on the slope of the roof, the impact of the bar with the air could cause air vortices that cause the noise.

If, on the other hand, the noise is a loud hissing noise even at low speeds, check that you have inserted the sheathing in the bar's lower channel. If it is not present, it can be purchased under product code 4018500, or for a quicker solution, you can use electrician's tape to plug the channel.
